Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Fern C. STRAUB, 84, Tuesday at Carlsbad, California. A former Crawfordsville resident, she had resided in California about 24 years. Mrs. Straub was born April 18, 1901 at Browns Valley to Theodore and Nora SHOCKEY COONS. She was married to Glen Straub in November 1919 and he preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Carolyn) Knoblock of Blue Jay, Calif; a grandson, Michael Riley, also of blue Jay; and two nieces, Mrs. Louise Hayes of New Ross and rms. DJ (Loraine) Burns of Crawfordsville. Five brothers, Frank; Harry; Clifford; Elmer and Carl and two nieces, Mrs. Paul Johnson and Mrs. Sam Patton also preceded her in death. Memorial services are set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Carlsbad Lutheran Home. Burial will be at Monrovia, California. -- typed by kbz
